David J. Butuk, MD
Board Certified Family Physician

Dr. Butuk has been practicing family medicine since 1994.  He graduated from medical school in 1991 and completed his family practice residency in 1994.  Dr. Butuk is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Board of Family Physicians and the Idaho Medical Association. 

Dr. Butuk focuses on preventive medicine with an emphasis on healthy nutrition and lifestyle.  He lives in Meridian with his wife and two children and enjoys an active lifestyle.

   
Michele Miles, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant

Michele joins Meridian Family Medicine having 23 years experience as a Physician Assistant.  Her passion is for the sick and those wanting to establish healthy livelihoods.  Most recently, Michele was clinical faculty establishing the Meridian campus for the ISU PA Program.  She spent the past 6 years practicing with Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in Boise.  Her interests include all facets of Family Medicine with care for the growing child her favorite. 

Michele moved to Star in 2004 and spends as much time as possible working overseas.
  She has lived in the Dominican Republic/Haiti, spent time in China, Kenya and other countries providing medical care to the underserved.  When not at work, she loves spending time in the mountains and developing relationships with families new to America.




S. Janine Thorson, MSN, FNP-C
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner


Janine Thorson has been caring for families for over twenty-five years. Married for 33 years to a Marine Corps Colonel, she began her career as an Associate’s Degree Registered Nurse in 1991 in Jacksonville, North Carolina.  Following her husband’s career from Camp Lejuene, she next completed her BSN in 1994 at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and ultimately completed her MSN in 1996 in advanced practice nursing at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.  While completing her education in Northern Virginia, she worked as an Intensive Care Unit Nurse at the Mount Vernon Hospital.  She loved the ICU setting, but soon moved to Family Practice care at Kaiser Permanente in Fairfax, Virginia. 

A
fter her husband’s retirement from the Marine Corps in San Diego, California, she continued working in Family Practice for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California.  When the family moved to Temecula, California, Janine moved to the Rancho Family Medical Group in 2000 and remained there for 11 years.  In 2011, the Thorson’s left California to start a new adventure in Meridian, Idaho.  Janine is eager to grow her practice at Meridian Family Medicine.  She is proud to be a board certified Nurse Practitioner in Idaho.

nine spends her free time with her husband enjoying the outdoors of Idaho.  She has three grown children and three grandsons.  Janine loves to spend time with her family and likes to travel, read, and snow ski.
 


Leanna Moser, MSN, FNP-C, PHN
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner


Leanna  joins the practice as a new graduate with honors from Walden University with a fresh and current perspective regarding best health practices.
  She has been in health care since 2005 working as a Registered Nurse in Women and Infant Care and as an emergency room nurse in the second busiest Emergency/Trauma Center in Los Angeles County, California.  Leanna has a passion for providing excellent care and self-care teaching support to patients of all ages, but especially enjoys the specialized care she can offer regarding women’s health issues, Diabetes/Metabolic diseases and mental health disorders.  She is a champion for groups often frustrated by progressive and serious disease processes, as well as the disenfranchised populations among us.

Leanna and her husband, a law enforcement officer, recently moved to Idaho with their four children in pursuit of new adventures and an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors!  She enjoys camping, traveling, hiking, rafting and horseback riding, although her greatest satisfaction comes from helping patients and their families to achieve quality care.
