Jami joins our practice with over 18 years’ experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her NP degree from Seattle University in 2002 and has loved working in the field of family medicine for most of her career.

Jami enjoys the long-term patient relationships that can be formed in primary care and enjoys the variety of caring for people of all ages, with a particular interest in adolescent and women’s care. She values the importance of lifestyle choices in preventing disease and maintaining lifelong health.

Jami moved to Idaho in 2020 after living 25 years in Washington State. She and her husband have 2 children and love the beautiful weather and the active, outdoor lifestyle that Idaho has to offer.

Shauna joined our practice summer of 2017 as a recently certified nurse practitioner who graduated with honors from Walden University. She began her nursing career in 2004 in Atlanta, Georgia. Shauna has been an RN for 13 years, mostly in critical care and held a certification in emergency nursing.
Her interest in medicine started as a young child when she would flip through her parent’s medical resource book with fascination. She joins the practice loving patient care and carries enthusiasm to grow as a healthcare provider. Shauna's philosophy for healthcare is to treat each patient as an individual requiring individualized care.
Shauna has been married for 19 years to her high school sweetheart. They have one fabulous daughter and one spoiled Rottweiler named Ripley. Shauna and her family moved to Boise in 2007 from Georgia and love calling Idaho “home”. She enjoys traveling, snacking while watching YouTube videos, and enjoying whatever her events planner (husband) has planned for the week.

Dr. David J Butuk, MD

Brittany was born and raised here in Idaho, growing up in Sand Hollow on the family farm. She graduated with her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Weber State in 2018. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from BYU. Brittany has four years of Nurse Practitioner experience and has been an RN for 10 years. She has extensive pediatric experience. She has spent the past 4 years working in Primary Care Pediatrics specializing in newborn care, well child checks, adolescent care, ADHD, complex pediatric disorders, and urgent care. She is proficient in skin procedures, Nexplanon placements, toenail removals, and sutures. Prior she worked at Primary Children’s Hospital on the Trauma Unit, and Emergency Department where she held many leadership positions, and has her trauma certification. Brittany enjoys working in women’s health and is excited to be able to care not only for the child but the family unit. Brittany believes that each patient is unique and that caring for a child makes ensuring that the entire family unit is thriving in their health.

Brittany has been married for 13 years to her wonderful husband. She has three beautiful children who keep her busy and are the joy of her life. She lives in Sand Hollow with her family, two dogs, and 25 chickens. She enjoys seeing the world through traveling. She can often be found at her kid’s athletic events or activities. She enjoys reading, playing piano, skiing, playing volleyball, making cakes/baking, and camping with her family.

Dr. Butuk has been practicing family medicine since 1994. He graduated from medical school in 1991 and completed his family practice residency in 1994. Dr. Butuk is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Board of Family Physicians and the Idaho Medical Association.
Dr. Butuk established Meridian Family Medicine in 2006 to create a doctor owned medical practice with the ability to provide every patient with first-rate medical care.

Since 2006, Dr. Butuk has added five (5) medical providers to join the Meridian Family Medicine medical staff. He enjoys treating patients of all ages and the whole family. Dr. Butuk focuses on preventive medicine with an emphasis on healthy nutrition and lifestyle.

Dr. Butuk, his wife and two children have made Meridian their home since 2003 and have enjoyed all the benefits of living in Idaho. He enjoys a busy and active lifestyle outside the clinic.

Scott comes to Meridian Family Medicine with over twelve years of experience in healthcare, where he has focused primarily in urgent care and family practice. A graduate with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Rocky Mountain College, he worked as the general surgery team leader in Bozeman, Montana before moving to Utah and overseeing the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions for all age groups at the practice where he worked. Eventually settling in Meridian, Scott worked at an urgent care where he handled minor emergencies, fracture management, laceration repair among other physician assistant duties.

Scott's personal philosophy of quality instruction with compassion allows him to provide personalized care for patients of all ages and backgrounds. As an avid outdoorsman, Scott enjoys hiking and camping where he loves to capture his beautiful surroundings with his camera. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and plays jazz string bass in his spare time. His wife and five boys are his life and he is excited to work at Meridian Family Medicine where he can build relationships with patients and do what he loves.

Janelle Poole joins our practice from Arizona. She attended Arizona State University for both her RN and NP training and graduated with honors. She has over 13 years of experience as a family nurse practitioner and over 16 years as a registered nurse with varied areas of experience.

She worked in pediatrics, step-down NICU and postpartum as a registered nurse and has been caring for all ages in family practice as a nurse practitioner.
Janelle believes her role as a provider is to be a partner and advocate for her patients. She is proficient in skin procedures, joint injections, trigger point injections, and is passionate about helping her patients achieve a healthier lifestyle through comprehensive medical weight loss. Some of her areas of specialty are treating migraines, thyroid disease, chronic fatigue, diabetes, and weight loss assistance.
Janelle loves being a wife and mom to her four kids at home. She loves reading, traveling and going on adventures with her family. She loves the four seasons and beauty of Idaho!
